1. Who we are

Packtopus ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered travel packing assistant available at packtopus.com. We help travelers create smart packing lists, track bag weight, plan outfits, and get AI travel advice.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: Email address and password (hashed) when you register.
• Trip & packing data: Destinations, dates, packing lists, item weights, and outfit plans you create in the app.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interaction logs to improve the product.
• Payment data: Billing is handled entirely by LemonSqueezy. We never see or store your full card number.
• AI chat messages: Messages you send to the AI Travel Chat feature, used to generate responses.

3. How we use your information

• To provide and improve Packtopus features.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send transactional emails (password reset, subscription receipts).
• To generate AI-powered packing lists and travel advice based on your trip data.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate Packtopus:

• Supabase — Authentication and database hosting. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• LemonSqueezy — Payment processing and subscription management.
• OpenAI — Powers AI packing list generation and AI Travel Chat. Trip context is sent to OpenAI to generate responses.
• Vercel — Hosting and delivery of the web application.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and trip data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Export your data.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use of Packtopus after changes constitutes acceptance.
